Division Fleet and Surplus Services Division
The mission of Surplus Services is to assist our customers redistribute surplus public assets in a responsible fashion for the fiscal and environmental benefit of Minnesota.
Surplus Services is responsible for the re-use of federal and state surplus property by state agencies, political subdivisions and eligible donees.
Surplus Services acquires and distributes from its warehouse surplus office supplies and furniture, medical supplies and equipment, clothing, a wide range of vehicles, machine tools, hardware and electrical supplies and many other items. The items are available for a nominal service charge. This means that participants can realize incredible savings.
Surplus Services operates the state auction program (live and online) which serves the public. Approximately 92% of the auction proceeds are returned to the owner agency. Surplus Services provides storage and handling services for state governments, and purchases GSA (federal) used vehicles and redistributes them to eligible organizations.

- Materials Handling - Delivery and inventory of stored items and obtaining agency surplus property for consignment or donation to Surplus Services
- Storage Space leasing (indoor and outdoor)
Surplus Services has indoor and outdoor storage space available for lease to state and local government agencies. Indoor storage is available for $5.65 per annual square foot. The charge for outdoor storage space is $25.00 per vehicle per month.
